I was born of love, raised in it, surrounded by it. I love, I am loved, I have loved and I have been loved. And, despite being hurt by it, I will continue to love. It was the first thing I ever felt, my original emotion, the foundation of my character.
Next came trust. Helpless in the arms of giants, surrounded by love, I learned to trust. I’ve trusted those who failed me, but that won’t keep me from extending my trust again. I trust until you abuse that trust. And I expect to be trusted in return.
Last learned was honor. It had to wait until the first two were learned. My parents live with honor and I learned from them. Honor is more important today that so many have forgotten it. I will do what is right not through hope of reward or fear of punishment, but simply because it is right. I will hold to what my parents taught me.
