So yesterday was fun. Bad planning by the boss people means I didn’t have a photog so I drove out the the Iowa Corn Indy 250 by my self. Now, don’t get excited, I didn’t actually get to see the race. No, I was wandering around in town asking business owners about the economic bump the race has/has not given them. Fun, huh?
So I finish that up and get back to the station, and, lo and behold, more severe weather. So I go tornado hunting. I find one. Now I feel like the dog that has caught the car it is chasing. What the hell do you do with it? My answer is stay way the hell back and get some video. We let it pass, then found the damage. Did some live shots. Smashing.
But then I get back to the station, by now its midnight, and I still have to log and write a story for the morning show, which starts in 5 hours. Now, I’ve been at work since 10am. I’m seriously considering sticking around and going live in the 5am show. Might as well at this point, right? But I called it a night instead. Got home about 2:15 am, and went to bed.
The kitten we rescued off the side of the road wakes me up about an hour and a half later by pissing on the sheets. Yes, you are welcome for saving your life little kitten, please, make yourself at home. I get back to sleep and, wouldn’t you know, the sunshine, blinding sunshine, wakes me up about 9:30. I give up.
