So I ranted tonight to ScrapJam about the current debt-crisis-thingy. She asked why I didn’t put rants like that here. I pondered a moment and said “Because it’s so damned obvious. I only put things on my blog that are bizarre, unique or thought-provoking.”
The debt limit thing is just your run-of-the-mill, modern, american politics. A bunch of idiots looking to get re-elected by a vocal (and voting) minority instead of doing what’s right. Where’s the surprise ending there? We know where its going, we know how it got here, there’s no reason for me to explain it to all of you.
I also expounded a bit on my own far-fetched political aspirations. The unliklihood of ever getting elected because I speak the truth and my mind. The obvious solutions that will be shouted down because they benefit the people who actually need benefits. You see, I’m a “pie-in-the-sky realist”, a seeming contradiction. I know exactly how the world works, but I don’t accept it. I think we can do better. And I see the way to get there.
The fact that no one will follow me there is irrelevant. I’ll still try to get there. And, if possible, I’ll drag you all kicking and screaming with me.
Now doesn’t that sound like someone you’d vote for?
